Research evaluation - next step
During autumn 2023, Aarhus BSS Research, Equality and Diversity Committee prepared an overall protocol that describes the process, organisation and follow-up related to the upcoming research evaluation at Aarhus BSS. The protocol includes several key appendices, including a template for the departments’ self-evaluation report, terms of reference for the external panel, and a template for the programme for the international panel visit.
Parallel to the above, the departments have been discussing the department-specific evaluation themes that will be included in the evaluation report along with the three transversal themes at school level: research output and impact, research collaboration, and acquirement of competitive funding. In addition, the departments are also in the process of establishing the international evaluation panels.
Timeline:
- Spring 2024: Data collection and preparation of departments’ self-evaluation reports
- Fall 2024: Visit by the international evaluation panels and discussion of department-specific development opportunities based on the reports from the international evaluation panels
- Spring 2025: Preparation of a short overall report at school level and subsequent summarised report at university level.
The evaluation process is expected to be repeated in the future in a 6-year cycle.
